Schenectady – Aileen Woolf-Fine, 94 of Schenectady died on Sunday June 12, 2022 at Ellis Hospital just days after her birthday. Born in Schenectady she is the daughter of the late Saul and Esther Amazon.
Aileen was a life-long resident of Schenectady but resided in Troy during her married life. She had been employed for more than 20 years in management at the former Cohoes Manufacturing Company. Through her years in fashion she had the pleasure of working with many well-known people including, Meryl Streep whom she served as personal shopper for. She also had a following of hundreds of other customers who would request her personally, even later in life when she was traveling out of town people would recognize her from her days in fashion. She was a member of Congregation Agudat Achim in Schenectady. Aileen will be most remembered for her love of ballroom dance, her sense of humor and her love of music especially Big Bands. Aileen loved people and established many great relationships through the years with many staff of local supermarkets and diners in the Latham area. The family often joked that upon her passing, the flag at the 76 Diner would be flown at half-mast in her memory.
Aileen was predeceased by husbands, Leonard Woolf and Richard Fine; and her daughter, Gail Jaffin. She is survived by her loving sister, Sherry Hershenson of Wynnewood, PA; her granddaughters, Lindsey Jaffin Conway and Erica Jaffin Singer; her nephew, Stewart Fingerhut; and her niece, Salisha Fingerhut. She also leaves to mourn many loving cousins.
Funeral services will be held at The Agudat Achim Cemetery, Schermerhorn St. in Rotterdam on Tuesday June 14th at 12:00 pm.
