Valatie - Ann Sheldon Macintyre, left us peacefully , Saturday , September 16, 2023.
Born August 30, 1936 to the late John and Mary Sheldon of Lyons Falls New York. Ann was
the oldest of 5 siblings and cherished close bonds with her family throughout her life.
In 1958 Ann married John A. Macintyre JR. and embarked on a life together in Ravena, New
York. After earning her Masters degree in Library Science, Ann enjoyed employment at Catskill
High School as a librarian. She was known to her students as Mrs. Mac and to her colleagues,
the one and only, Annie Mac.
Annie was an accomplished pianist, avid reader, and loved to
sing, especially with her sisters, mother and brother. In retirement, Annie enjoyed many
adventures with her partner Earle Lawrence and resided in their beautiful house on the hill in
Spencertown, New York. Her greatest joy was entertaining family and friends, caring for animals
and appreciating the beauty of nature. Her fun loving spirit and flair for laughter was contagious
and left a positive impression on the lives of all who knew her. Annie had a unique ability to
connect with others and cherished her many lasting friendships. Annie was beautiful, inside and out,
always put together with perfect outfits, and a stunning smile, never lacking lipstick.
Annie will be remembered as a loving , devoted wife and mother, She is survived by her
children Kathryn ( Kate) Tennant, John A. Macintyre, and Andrew D. Macintyre, grandson Cullen
Michael Tennant and his wife Elizabeth Tennant. Siblings, Kathryn ( Kate) Cox, Margaret
Crissy McGee & Daniel Sheldon, many nieces and nephews and countless friends. Annie is
predeceased by her parents, husband John Macintyre Jr., devoted partner Earle Lawrence,
sister Thora Van Horn and feline companion Waskasiu.
A celebration of life and internment, will be held in the spring, in her beloved North Country,
exact location has yet to be determined.
