Arlene King, age 91, of Cary, NC, passed away on December 16, 2025.

Arlene was born in Albany, NY, to Rose and Irving Gingold. She graduated from the New York State College for Teachers, earning both an undergraduate and a graduate degree in teaching. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert King; her parents, Rose and Irving Gingold; and her sister, Vera Kahn.

Arlene was devoted to her three children, Mitchell King, Stacey Goodman (Rod), and Victoria Osborne (David). In 2010, she moved to North Carolina to be near her grandchildren, Lindsay, Bryce, and Olivia; and her great-grandchildren, James and Miles.

Arlene enjoyed playing Mahjong, reading, attending concerts, Broadway musicals, and movies, and spending time with her many devoted friends. Her warm spirit, generosity, and love of learning enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held graveside at Independent Benevolent Society, 260 Fuller Rd in Albany, NY, on December 21, 2025, at 12:00 pm.
