Arlene D. Weiskopf of Albany, NY passed away on August 15th 2022. Mrs. Weiskopf was born on June 20th, 1934 in the Bronx, New York. She was married to Albert Weiskopf in 1956 in New York City. She is survived by her children, Sherry, (Chuck) Kearns, Gary (Lynn) Weiskopf and Eric (Debra) Weiskopf, all of Clifton Park, NY. Arlene also leaves 7 grandchildren.
Arlene was a graduate of Adelphi College in Garden City, NY and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Prior to raising her family, she was a buyer for several clothing stores in New York City and Philadelphia. After her children were older, Arlene worked for the NYS Department of Civil Service where she retired in 1996.
Arlene was on the Board of The Colonie Jewish Community Association for many years. She was an avid Mahjong player and a QVC shopaholic. Arlene loved to travel with her husband, family and friends. She was devoted to her children and especially her grandchildren.
Arlene is predeceased by her parents Jack and Ruth Shumsky, her husband Albert, and her sister Teri Shumsky Rubinstein.
Funeral services will be held at the Independent Benevolent Cemetery, 260 Fuller Road in Albany on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Arlene in a special way may plant a tree in Israel or make a memorial contribution to the Birthright Israel Foundation, the Special Olympics or the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home in Albany NY.
