Albany – Arthur Taub, 94, passed away on Thursday May 19, 2022. Born on June 6, 1927 he was the son of the late Max and Dorothy Taub.
Arthur attended Philip Schuyler High School and left school after his junior year to enlist in The United States Navy during WWII. Upon returning after the conclusion of the war he graduated from Albany High School and attended Veterans Vocational School (now HVCC) and SUNY Farmingdale Community College where he completed the Refrigeration Technician program, followed by employment in that field in Rochester and Albany.
Arthur was a principal of Taub Heating and Plumbing from 1952 until his retirement in 1984. He was a founder and officer in The Albany Licensed Plumbers Group.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 68 years, Eleanor Shayevitz Taub; his daughter, Nancy (Frank) Allen; daughter-in-law, Lisa Taub; four grandchildren, Meg (Dustin) Horan, Stephen Allen (Jaya Muldrew), Melissa (Nick) Burnash and Kaitlin (Dan) Camardo; and five great-grandchildren.
Arthur was predeceased by his son, Michael Taub and his brother, Harold Taub.
Graveside services for Arthur will be held on Friday May 20th at 11:00 am at Beth Emeth Cemetery on Turner Lane in Loudonville.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the staffs at The Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center and The Massry Residence for the kindness and compassion shown to Eleanor and the family throughout Arthur’s illness.
