Barbara Lanfear

 Colonie – Barbara Lanfear, 81, passed away at her residence on Saturday July 29, 2023.

Barbara was born in Hartford, CT in 1942 to the late Morris and Sylvia Eiss. She was married to Edwin Lanfear Jr until his passing in 2001. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Ali Lanfear and the light of her life, her granddaughter, Emmali Lanfear. She was also predeceased by her brother, Allen Eiss.

Barbara was a graduate of Albany High School and attended Albany Business College. She was employed by The N.Y.S. Dept. of Mental Hygiene as well as South Colonie Central School District as a monitor for many years until her retirement. While working in the school district Barbara worked with two very special students who became like family to her. Eric and Sam, she was always so proud of you both. Barbara was always surrounded by her cats, she often joked about becoming the crazy cat lady.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday August 3rd at 11:00 am at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave. in Albany and be officiated by Rabbi Greg Weitzman. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie.
