Loudonville - Charles Ehrlich August passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at St. Peter's Hospital. Born on August 17, 1931, in Troy, he was the son of the late Herbert and Satie (Ehrlich) August.
Chuck was a graduate of Albany Academy. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and went on to receive his master’s degree from Harvard Business School. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Chuck enjoyed a distinguished career in business and community leadership. He served as former Treasurer and President of the New York State Automotive Wholesalers Association, was a Board Member of the Automotive Service Industries Association, President of EASCO Warehouse Co., and Trustee of Pioneer Bank. He also shared his knowledge as an instructor at Hudson Valley Community College.
Dedicated to faith and service, Chuck was a Trustee of Congregation Beth Emeth and a Board Member of the Colonie Youth Center.
Chuck embraced life fully and found joy in traveling, reading, playing bridge, tennis, and golf. He met the love of his life, Lois, while playing tennis, and together they shared 68 wonderful years of marriage.
He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, intelligence, devotion to family, and commitment to his community.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois August (Abramson); his children, Chuck (Michele) August, Bob (Lori) August and Jill (Norm Massry) August; his cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Gabriel, Noah, Lauren, Allison and Joshua; and his brother, Herbert (The late Judy) August, Jr.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to all who helped Chuck during his illness, especially Angie Primiano, The staff at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center and the nurses of St. Peter’s McAuley 3.

Funeral services for Chuck will be held on Wednesday April 22nd at 11:00 am at Congregation Beth Emeth Cemetery, 58 Turner Lane in Loudonville.
