Cheryl B. Ratner of Niskayuna died on October 28, 2022 after a series of illnesses. She was born October 21, 1947 in Brooklyn, N.Y., and attended Thomas Jefferson High School and Queens College. She worked for the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs before moving to the Capital District in 1975, where she worked for 27 years at the State Department of Health as a medical conduct investigator, rising to Principle Investigator. She completed her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude at the University at Albany, SUNY in 1979. A vibrant, generous, kind, and gregarious person with a quick wit, Cheryl was known and loved throughout her community, and she enthusiastically devoted her time and resources to many Jewish and secular causes.
She is survived by her beloved daughters Ezraela Ratner-Trachtenberg and Aliza Wilgocki, and her adored grandchildren Chase Perrault, Bentley Hanna, Izabella Benjamin, and Lillian Rose Wilgocki.
Funeral services will be held at Congregation Agudat Achim in Schenectady on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow at the congregational cemetery.
A shiva minyan will be held at the home of Brenda Larkin, 2412 Brookshire Dr., Niskayuna, 12309, on Thursday, Nov. 3, 6-8 p.m.
