Christine (Bach) Singer Obituary

Niskayuna - Christine B Singer passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022.  She was born October 31, 1929 in New York City to Joseph Bach and Margaret Bach (nee Wargo).

Christine attended Hunter College as an undergraduate student and the University of Pittsburgh where she received a Master of Social Work degree.  She was proud that she obtained a library card at the age of four.

 Christine retired from the New York State Department of Social Services after a long and distinguished career in which she provided a wide range of professional and developmental opportunities for social workers.  She had previous employment with the Young Woman’s Christian Association, The Jewish Community Center, and the Jewish Home for the Aged. 

 Christine loved gardening, pottery, art, and music. She was a Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardner and taught Pottery classes at the Schenectady Jewish Community Center.

 Christine was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Albert R. Singer.  She leaves a son David (Mary Ellen), two daughters Karen and Ilene (Kyle) and seven grandchildren: Daniel, Catie, Tyler, Max, Evan, Jason and Elise.

 Those wishing to remember Christine in a special way may make a memorial contribution to the the Schenectady JCC Art/Pottery Studio, the University of Pittsburgh, or the Family & Child Services-Schenectady.

 Funeral services for Christine will be private.
