David Cohen Obituary


David B. Cohen, 78 of Albany, New York died on Saturday evening, October 23, 2021 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. David was born in Schenectady and was the son of the late Jacob and Florence Richter Cohen. He graduated from Albany Business College and had worked at his Father's fur shop and later for Sears and Roebuck from its opening until his retirement in 2013.   David volunteered his time at the Albany Veteran's Administration Medical Center for many years. 
David is survived by his wife Amy Bell Cohen whom he married on September 11, 1977, , daughter Julie Nicole Cohen and her husband Chris Purdy, granddaughters Mya Cohen Snyder and Torrin Cohen Purdy. He also leaves his sister-in-law Nancy Bell and his brother -in-law Sanford Fialkoff. David is also survived by nieces Alyssa Fecura and her husband Tim, and Mindy Fricke and her husband Roland. He was predeceased by his sister Suzanne Fialkoff  and his mother and father-in law, Rita and Louis Bell and brother in-law Eli Taub.
Graveside services will be held at 1pm  on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Independent Benevolent Cemetery, located on Fuller Road in Albany. Following the service, friends and relatives are invited to the Cohen residence, 12 Gingerbread Lane in Albany. There will also be a prayer service at 7pm on Tuesday at the residence
