Obituary
Delmar - Edith Fischler of Delmar passed away July 8, 2023, at home, where she lived with her loving family. Born and raised in Brooklyn, she graduated from New Utrecht High School and then worked in Manhattan until marrying Harold, her husband of 66 years. They moved to Albany in 1951 where they raised six children. She was a stay-at-home mom for 16 years, and then worked at the Albany County DA’s Office, and served as a committeewoman for the Democratic Party. Edie had a great personality; loved to laugh; and enjoyed fashion, decorating her home, and sitting by the pool. Most of all, she enjoyed sharing time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Edie was predeceased by her husband Harold and is survived by her children Bobby (Lori), Susan, David (Charlene), Cindy, Barbara (Mark), and Andy, also leaving behind her grandchildren Josh (Camila), Justin, Meredith, Ben, Lily, Mara, Michael, and Maci. Services are private. Those wishing to remember Edie should donate to Community Hospice or Congregation Beth Emeth Cemetery Fund.
