Edith Messer Obituary

Slingerlands – Edith Messer, 90, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, June 24, 2024. Born in Bronx, NY she is the daughter of the late Hyman and Frieda Lessman. Edith was married to Gilbert Messer for 20 years until his passing in 1981.

Edith is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Ethan Bloch) Messer; her step-daughter, Susan (William Corr) Steinmetz; her sister, Harriet (the late David) Paintner; her grandchildren, Allison (Scott Schneider) Corr, Leah (Jeremy Rogoff) Corr, Gil Messer and Ada Messer; and her great-grandchildren, Eli Rogoff, Isabel Rogoff and Eleanor Schneider.  She is also survived by her dear companion, Ed Dollinger. Edith was devoted to her family and friends and they were always her first priority.

The family is deeply grateful for the loving care of her team of aides:  Robin, Alma, Arlene, Janeth, Lynn, Mary, MaryAnne, Maxine and Olivia.

A private burial was held on Thursday June 27, 2024 at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, NJ.
