Albany – Elliott F. Marinstein, Esq., 96, passed away peacefully on Friday September 6, 2024 at Albany Medical Center. Born in New York City in 1928, he is the son of the late Joseph and Rose Marinstein.
Elliott graduated from Midwood High School and he received a bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College and a law degree from NYU Law School. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
He married the love of his life, Leita Marinstein, in 1957 and enjoyed 57 years of love and friendship until her passing in 2014. Elliott practiced law in Troy, New York for over 55 years and was thrilled to partner with his son, Edward, for over 35 years. Elliott was extremely well respected by the legal community and was known for providing legal services in an ethical and professional manner.
Elliott is survived by his son Edward, and his wife Robyn as well as his son Jay, and his wife Rhea. Additionally, Elliott had four grandchildren: David Marinstein and his soon-to-be-wife Lauren Platt, Jessica (Marinstein) Jess and her husband Josh Jess, Jenna Marinstein, and Ross Marinstein. In addition to his wife Leita, he was predeceased by his brother, Arnold Marinstein.

Funeral services for Elliott will be private to the family but will be livestreamed to the public on Sunday September 8th at 10:30 a.m. The livestream can be viewed by visiting cbealbany.org. The Marinstein family will schedule a celebration of life ceremony in the upcoming months and will invite the public to attend.
