Erica Wishengrad, 88 of Attleboro, Mass passed away on March 15, 2022 after a long illness.
She was born in Albany, NY on March 6, 1934, the daughter of the late Dorothy and Sam Wishengrad. Erica was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School and worked as a secretary before marrying her husband Milton Freadman and relocating to Pittsfield Mass, where they raised their three children.
Erica was a devoted stay at home mother and volunteer while her children were young. A talented gardener, she volunteered at Springside Greenhouse and built a greenhouse at her home in Pittsfield. She then returned to school, graduating with an A.A. degree in Respiratory Therapy from Berkshire Community College and studied nursing at Northeastern University in Boston. She was an avid bicyclist and loved Boston Symphony. She also tutored immigrant elementary school children in English.
Erica was interested in politics and current events, but in later years her true passion was in sports especially basketball and baseball. She was a loyal fan of the Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Red Sox.
Erica leaves children Charlene Freadman Kahn and Steve Epstein of Seattle, Washington, Michele Freadman of Attleboro, Mass and Blaine Freadman and Jodie Lahey of Pittsfield, Mass; grandchildren Margaret Kahn, Chad Freadman ,Courtney and Greg Rybak and Cara Freadman. She is survived by her brother Joel Wishengrad of West Palm Beach, Fla. Her younger brother Barry Wishengrad preceded her in death.
She will be remembered with great fondness and love by her caregivers of many years.
Services will be held at the Independent Benevolent Society Cemetery, 260 Fuller Road in Albany, NY on Friday, March 18 at 12:00 pm.
