Eugene "Gene" Ginsberg Obituary

Eugene “Gene” Ginsberg passed peacefully at Daughter’s of Sarah nursing home on September 27, 2024. He lived nearly 95 years in great health and always surrounded by friends. Gene was a gregarious man and a fun loving story teller. His practice of law in Nassau County was both his profession and his main hobby for over 65 years. He was a fixture at local, state and national bar association conferences. He was an early adopter of arbitration and very active in bar association dispute resolution initiatives. He was also known at the Nassau County Bar association for wearing a rhinestone pink ribbon on every suit to raise awareness about breast cancer and to spark conversation about To Life! He didn’t officially retire until the age of 91 when he moved north to Saratoga. He immediately embraced the carefree lifestyle as he had the opportunity to read 1-2 books every week. His mind was sharp until the very last day.

He is pre deceased by his first wife Barbara and his daughter Debra. He is survived by his daughter Mara Ginsberg (Jeffrey) and his grandchildren Barbara (Ryan) and Martin and great grandson Harrison. He is also survived by his second wife of 40+ years Estelle.

A private family graveside service will be held at the family plot on Long Island. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to To Life! (ToLife.org) or the Jewish National Fund USA  or Jewish Family Services.
