Florence Berger Obituary

Albany – Florence Berger, 91, passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn on Sunday October 5, 2025 with her loving family by her side. Born in the Bronx, she is the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Dentz.

Florence grew up in New York City and eventually married Ray and became a dental hygienist, but her true passion was raising her family. Florence was an avid reader. She liked to keep her hands busy with activities like knitting, embroidering, and puzzles. She took advantage of any opportunity to get the family together and  especially loved spending time with the babies of the family.

Florence is survived by her children, Philip (Lisa) Berger, Dr. Edward (Elizabeth) Berger, Daniel Berger and Karen (Will) Tuttle; her grandchildren, Aaron, Allison, Mikela, Emma (Sam), Henry (Justine), Maggie, Jamie, Marlow and Charlie; her great-grandchildren, Jaden, Eli and Jude; and her brothers, Arthur (Natalie) Dentz, Irving (The late Lynn) Dentz and Sol (Layne) Dentz.

Florence was predeceased by her husband Raymond Berger in 2011; her brother Marvin Dentz; her grandson, Benjamin Berger; and great-grandson, Jonah Meppen.

Funeral services for Florence will be held on Monday October 6, 2025 at 2:00 pm at The Beth Emeth Cemetery, 58 Turner Lane in Loudonville.
