George F. Bulson, Jr. of Altamont, NY

George F. Bulson, Jr. of Altamont, NY passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2021.  George was born on April 7, 1941 in Poughkeepsie, NY to George and Stella (DeMelis) Bulson.

George married his beloved wife Carol (Trempen) Bulson on September 28, 1963 and they raised their family in Wappingers Falls, NY.  He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.  Nothing gave him greater joy than spending time with his family – he was very proud of his girls: Lori, Kim, and Kelly.

George was a 1959 graduate of Arlington High School in Poughkeepsie NY. He was a veteran of the Air Force. After high school George attended Rider and Syracuse Universities where he studied Russian Language, Literature, and Culture. George worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at IBM Poughkeepsie for over 30 years.

George's passion was volunteer work for his community. He was very involved with the Jaycees in Wappingers Falls, serving as President for many years. This was where George became involved in Hudson Valley Special Olympics. He loved spending his Saturdays with his family training the young atheletes to prepare for upcoming meets. George was also one of the founding fathers of the Elks Lodge 2609 in Wappingers Falls. He loved being involved in events that impacted the beautiful village of Wappingers.

After retirement, George and Carol enjoyed 12 years in Atlantic Beach, Florida. He loved the beach and deep sea fishing while in Florida. Ultimately, due to health challenges they moved back to New York to be near family.

George is predeceased by his parents and his son, Kevin Bulson.  George is survived by his wife Carol Bulson of Altamont, his brother, Robert (Loni) Bulson of Poughkeepsie, NY and his daughters, Lori (Timothy) Crimmins of Naples, FL, Kimberleigh (Brian) Phelan of Slingerlands, NY, Kelly (Patrick) Conlan of Rochester, NY.  George was also very proud of his seven grandchildren, Caroline, Zoe, Natalie, Lily, Gavin, Grace and Ava.

Special thank you to Georges aides, nurses, and case coordinator that provided George's exceptional and thoughtful care.

The family will be holding a private service and there will be a celebration of George's life in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Special Olympics of the Capital Region. 94 New Karner Road, Suite 208, Albany, NY 12203 in George's memory.
