Harry M. Rosenfeld, age 91, died at his residence with his wife by his side on Friday, July 16, 2021.
Born in Berlin, Germany, he was the son of Sam and Esther Rosenfeld.
Harry was a graduate of Syracuse University. He worked at the New York Herald Tribune and the Washington Post before becoming Editor of the Times Union and Knickerbocker News, retiring in 1996 and becoming the Times Union’s Editor-at-Large.
Harry was a Korean War Veteran. He enjoyed playing tennis, swimming, and vacationing with his family in Cape Cod and Bethany Beach. He was a voracious reader, author of two memoirs, and lover of the arts.
Harry was an extremely devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was the loving husband of 68 years, and high school sweetheart of Anne Hahn Rosenfeld, beloved father of Susan Rosenfeld Wachter and her husband Dr. Stuart Wachter, Amy Rosenfeld Kaufman and her husband Daniel and Stefanie Rosenfeld and her late husband Paul Aiken; cherished grandfather of Sarah Wachter, Jonathan Wachter, Dana Kaufman, Jake Kaufman, Melanie Aiken, Wil Aiken and A.J. Aiken.
In addition to his parents, Harry was predeceased by his sister Rachel Damski.
A memorial service will be held at Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Road in Albany on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 2:00pm. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Temple following the service.
Masks are required for those attending the service.

The service of interment will be held privately at the Beth Emeth Cemetery in
Loudonville, NY.
