Sarasota - Harvey Cline, 83, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2023. Born in Boston, MA he is the son of the late Ethel and James Cline.
Harvey was a devoted and talented scientist, and worked for GE Research for 42 years. He has over 100 papers and over 175 patents. He was a member of the National Academy of Science for 30 years. He was honored in Washington, D.C. as the inventor of the year by the academy. GE Research awarded him with the Coolidge Fellowship which allowed him and his family to spend a year in Palo Alto, California.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elaine Cline; his son, Jerrold Cline; his grandchildren, Sarah and Jamie; his sister, Maryanne of California; his brother, Harold of London and his brother in law Paul and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Michael Cline.

Funeral services for Harvey will be held on Wednesday November 1st at 1:00 pm at Congregation Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Ave. in Schenectady. Burial will follow at The Congregation Gates of Heaven Cemetery on Watt St. in Schenectady.
