Howard F. Carr Obituary

On August 23, 2024, Howard Carr, 75, passed away unexpectedly at home.  Born in Washington, D. C. to Albert and Eleanor (Alfred) Carr.  Howard attended the Albany schools and graduated from CW Post College of Long Island University.  

Howard and Linda (Larner) Carr were high school sweethearts that married in 1971 and were happily married for 53 years.  Howard is survived by his wife Linda, his children Aaron (Lauren) Carr and Lauren (Brett) Baxt, as well as his three grandchildren Jordyn and Noah Baxt and Maddison Carr, and his brothers, Melvin (Sandy) Carr and Murray (Risa) Carr

Howard was a commercial real estate broker for over 54 years and always loved the art of dealmaking.  Howard served as past president of the Albany County Board of Realtors, the New York State Commercial Association of REALTORS, and of CIREB, as well as staying involved on various boards in the industry.  He was also actively involved with the local chapter of the American Heart Association, serving as president as well as chairing the Heart Walk for many years.  Howard loved his family, community, riding his bike, golfing and was an avid reader.  He enjoyed summers in Lake George and winters in Florida, always staying connected and working with phone in hand.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024, 12 noon at Congregation Gates of Heaven.  On Monday, August 26, 2024, mourning observance will take place at the home of Linda and Howard Carr, from 2-4pm and resuming at 6pm with service at 7pm.
