Iosif Kogan

Niskayuna - Iosif Kogan, 88 of Niskayuna, New York died on March 28, 2023 at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born on December 16, 1934 in Gorky, Russia, Iosif was the son of the late Tevel Kogan and Vera Khayeva. He moved to the USA in 1997 where he settled in Niskayuna. He was a graduate of the Institute of Aviation Technology. He had been employed for 40 years as a design engineer at Gorky Aircraft Plant. Iosif enjoyed cross country skiing, the snowy winters in Upstate New York and setting up his own cross country ski trails near his apartment. He also enjoyed attending local concerts and performances at Proctors Theater and SPAC together with his wife. Iosif will be remembered for his caring ways, his great sense of humor, his love for nature and outdoor activities. He was a member of the Beth Israel Synagogue and Schenectady Jewish Community Center. Iosif greatly enjoyed being embraced by local community and Congregation Beth Israel, enjoyed learning English and interacting with friends

Iosif is survived by his wife of 58 years, Inna Kogan, son Anatoli Kogan, daughter-in-law Alla Kogan, grandsons, Adam and Benjamin.
