Niskayuna – Iris Walen Paul, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 7, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. Born in The Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Larry and Evelyn (Abramowitz) Lashin.

Iris is survived by her children, Rick Walen and Lori (Johnny) Caraballo; her children by marriage, Melissa Hyatt, Michael Paul and Stephen Paul; her grandchildren, Jonathan (Johanna) Schwartz, Jared (Michele) Paul, Jules (Amanda) Paul, Jenna Paul, Alexis (Brendan) Preville, Evan Caraballo, Joshua (Aurora) Silver and Eric (Melissa) Silver; and her great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Caroline, Layla, Samara, Asher, Kashtyn, Addison, Nathan, Maya, and Elise.

Iris was predeceased by her husbands, Arthur S. Walen and Martin D. Paul; and her brother, Barry Lashin.
