Irving Gettleman Obituary

Troy – Irving Gettleman, 99, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday November 6, 2022. Born in Albany, he is the son of the late Sam and Claire Gettleman.

Irving proudly served in The United States Army during WWII. After the war he earned his degree from Siena College and then worked as an Engineer for Ford Motor Co. for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Congregation Berith Sholom and the Troy Elks. Irving enjoyed square dancing, taking cruises and cooking.

Irving is survived by his son, David Gettleman; his grandsons, Eric (Beth) Gettleman and Matt Gettleman; and great-grandchildren, Noah, Eli and Sara. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Marie Glorya Gettleman; his brother, Sid Gettleman; and son, Paul Gettleman.

A graveside service for Irving will be held on Wednesday November 9th at 11:00 am at Berith Sholom Cemetery, 58 Belle Ave. in Troy.
