Albany - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother and grandmother, Jane Loeb, 92, of Albany, who passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025.
Jane was born in Newark, New Jersey, on April 23, 1932, the daughter of Minnie and Harry Katzin. She was a graduate of Weequahic High School and Russell Sage College.
Jane married David Loeb of Albany in 1952. David passed in 2000. She is survived by her children, Gary A. Loeb (Denise) of Peoria, Arizona, Marianne Loeb of Portland, Oregon, and Marta Pomerantz (Joshua) of New Milford, New Jersey, grandchildren Rachel Taft (Eric), Adam Loeb, and great-grandchildren Claire and Silas Taft.
She was kind and generous, and cared deeply about her family, and led a beautiful, full and active life. She was a devoted wife and homemaker, who always put her family first, but also was active in many community organizations. Jane had been a den leader for the Boy and Girl Scouts, a member of United Order of True Sisters and the National Council of Jewish Women.
Jane was a life member of Hadassah and treasurer of its Chai Chapter, a life member of Brandeis University National Women’s Committee, and President of the Brandeis Tri-Cities Chapter.
