Albany - Jean (Pearlman) Cohen, age 99, of Albany passed away peacefully with her son at her side on May 10, 2026, at Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. Born in Troy on March 15, 1927, she was the daughter of Samuel and Tillie Pearlman.
Jean attended Albany public schools and graduated from Philip Schuyler High School. She worked for the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation for 28 years, retiring in 1991.
Jean was married to the love of her life, Alvin M. Cohen, for 65 years until his passing in 2014. She is survived by her son, Lawrence P. Cohen, and his fiancé Leta D. Smith, of Slingerlands, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Harold Pearlman and her sister-in-law Estelle Pearlman.
The family would like to thank the staff at Shaker Place, as well as The Community Hospice, for the care given to Jean. Special thanks to Dr. Patrick Caufield for his care, kindness, and dedication.

Funeral services for Jean will be held graveside on Thursday May 14th at 11:00 am at The Independent Benevolent Cemetery, 260 Fuller Rd. in Albany.
