Jeffrey Bernstein

Jeffrey Leonard Bernstein, Waterford, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on April 29, 2022, in his home at 74 years old. Jeffrey was born in Albany, NY, to the late Thelma Gaes (Maiden name Thelma Strauss) and Benjamin Bernstein.

Jeffrey attended Albany Public Schools and was a Philip Schuyler High School graduate. Jeffrey was also a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College, where he received his degree in Accounting. Jeffrey enjoyed racing cars. Jeffrey fell in love with Donna Bernstein, they married in 1971 and started a family. Jeffrey was an active community member, coaching his children’s baseball teams in the 1980s. Jeffrey maintained an entrepreneurial and independent spirit throughout his entire life. Jeffrey’s life’s achievement is Entec Consultants Inc., which he founded with only a small loan and personal grit in 1981 and grew into a thriving enterprise.

Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife, Donna Bernstein; and his devoted children, Brett D. Bernstein (Lori), Scott Bernstein (Jane), Rebecca Ramundo (Joel), and Andrew M. Bernstein. He also leaves a sister, Stephanie Muller (Bruce), and a niece Laura. Jeffrey is also survived by 7 grandchildren, who are Melissa (Nick), Evan, Ryan, Lilly, MJ, Landon, Henry and 1 great-grandchild, Emma and many beloved cousins. Jeffrey was predeceased by his brother, Stephen Bernstein and his sister, Marsha Solis. Jeffrey is also survived by Marsha's husband Bill  and  nephews, Benjamin and Joshua.

Our family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, therapists, and caregivers for their compassion and kindness during Jeff’s time of need. His family will most remember Jeffrey as a dedicated husband and father who was courageous to the very end.

Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue in Albany on  Tuesday, May 3, 2022  at 11:00am. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will follow services in the Beth Abraham Jacob Cemetery on Western Avenue in Guilderland, NY.
