West Palm Beach Florida- Our beloved mother, nana and friend passed on Thursday December 8, 2022. Judy was one of a kind! She had the heart of a lion and the protectiveness of a mama bear. She selflessly gave of herself through volunteerism. She helped feed the housebound, she taught literacy to children who did not speak English. She always knew everything about them and had gifts specifically picked out for them, most books she gifted were treasured as the only book they ever received!
Judy volunteered for years at Morse in the Alzheimer’s wing while helping the nurses with office work as she was a multitasker bar none! When local affiliate to NBC aired a spot on Judy the grateful recipients of her food deliveries all stated how they so looked forward to her visits! She took the time to listen and visit as many had no visitors and were lonely! In her formative years she was a schoolteacher, mother and office manager. Judy loved nature, travel, gardens of all types, reading, music, movies, parades and fireworks.
Judy is predeceased by her husband Carl Mestman, DDS, the love of each other’s lives. They had 44 years together in marriage. Judy was born and raised in Albany, NY. She graduated Buffalo State Teachers College in Buffalo, NY where she met Carl attending Dental school. She raised her family with her husband in Balmville, NY. In 2003 she moved to West Palm Beach, FL until her death.
Judy will be sorely missed by her children, Scott, Beth, Evan, Diana, Elana and Robyn; grandchildren Naomi, Aaron, and Hunter. Go with God Mom, dance with Dad again and be free of your bodily constraints.
Funeral services will be held graveside at Hebrew Tailor’s Cemetery, 1620 Western Ave. in Guilderland on Sunday December 11th at 2:00 pm.
