Troy – Kathryn Cietek, 77, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday February 19, 2025 surrounded by her loving daughters. Born in Troy, she is the daughter of the late William and Noreen (Ryan) Cunningham.
Kathy was a graduate of Catholic Central High School Class of 1965. She owned and operated Ryan’s Pub and Timothy’s Restaurant for many years and had many fond memories of all the wonderful people she got to know over the years. Kathy enjoyed her trips to the casino, singing karaoke, vacationing in Aruba and playing cards with friends. The thing that gave her the most joy in life was spending time with her cherished grandchildren and family. She will be sorely missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Kathy is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (John) DeBonis, Kristine (John McElligott) Cietek, Kasey (Jim) Kelley and Kortney (Stanley) Duda; her beloved sister, Mary K. (Richard) Hernick; and her cherished grandchildren; John DeBonis, Anthony DeBonis, Christopher DeBonis, Lauren McElligott, Ryan Cietek, Katie (Joe Casale) Kelley, Jimmy Kelley, Karley Duda and Kassidy Duda.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her brothers, William Cunningham and Denis Cunningham.
Those wishing to remember Kathy in a special way can make memorial contributions in her name to Rensselaer County Hospice., 295 Valley View Blvd. Rensselaer, NY 12144.
Calling hours for Kathy will be held on Saturday February 22nd from 3:00 - 5:30 pm at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, 2013 Broadway in Watervliet. A prayer service will conclude the services at 5:30 pm.
The family would like to thank all of the Doctors and Nurses at N.Y.O.H. for their exceptional care and compassion given to Kathy during her illness.
