Kenneth G. Einbinder Obituary

Albany - Kenneth G Einbinder passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025 at Community Hospice Inn. Growing up in Brooklyn and Queens Kenneth became a lifelong fan of the Giants and Mets. We will miss Ken’s silliness as much as we will missis wisdom. He was the son of the late Seymour and Shirley  Einbinder. Kenneth was a 1974 graduate of Queens College and a 1977 graduate of SUNY Albany. In 1979, Kenneth became a member of the National Association of Social Workers and began his career in this helping profession. He worked in several agencies, including CHP, Karner Psychological associates, and Catholic charities. Most recently in the past 5 years, Kenneth worked for Catholic Charities Disabilities Services. Helping individuals directly and making a difference in their lives gave him great satisfaction.

Ken is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sharon Allison Einbinder; his son, Scott (Stephanie) Einbinder; his daughter, Allyson Einbinder; his brother, Barry (Meryl) Einbinder; his niece, Ariel; his nephew, Steven; and Torri, a feline companion who had a special place in Ken’s heart.

One of Ken’s greatest accomplishments was his 62 year battle with Juvenile diabetes, outliving many of his contemporaries who were also inflicted with the same terrible illness. Thank you to St. Peters Diabetes and Endocrine Group for guiding the way. Any donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will be greatly appreciated.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Community Hospice workers who are part angel  and part nurse.

Funerals services for Ken will be held on Tuesday February 11th at 11:00 am at Congregation Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Ave. In Schenectady. Burial will follow in The Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

The family will be sitting Shiva at their home on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 pm.
