Lawrence J. ( Larry)  Segel,  84 of Latham, NY died on Friday, August 27, 2021 at his residence. Born January 28, 1937 to Dorothy Wagenheim Segel and Benjamin Segel.

Larry was raised in Amsterdam, NY.  He graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School.  During that time, he enjoyed summers at Sacandaga Park. Larry moved to Albany, New York in 1961.  He was always involved in some form of sales. For many years he operated his own business, which was furniture sales, appliances and household accessories on a retail basis. He later sold legal publications for Matthew Bender Company. He retired from Met Life Auto and Home Insurance.

 

Larry enjoyed visiting family in Florida and California.  He liked the activites in Saratoga Springs, NY and followed baseball (New York Yankees). In later years he played bridge, attended lectures and discussion groups on various subjects. 

He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and Congregation Beth Emeth

 

Larry is survived by his sister. Charlene Lebowitz, nephews Jonathan Lebowitz and Daniel Lebowitz, great niece Estelle Lebowitz and several cousins.  He will also be remembered by his many longtime friends.

 

Services at the Shaaray Tefila Cemetery, 2 Media Drive in Queensbury, NY on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 2:00pm. Donations may be made to the Dystonia Foundation, 1 East Wacker Drive, Suite 1730, Chicago, Illinois  60501-1080.  Please note, masks will be required at the cemetery service.
