Lenore Kaplan Leon, affectionately known as Leni, passed away on July 10, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on May 11, 1944, in Newburgh, NY, she most recently resided in King of Prussia, PA.
Leni was a passionate and enthusiastic salesperson in the education industry, where she made a notable impact through her work. A devoted mother, she took great pride in her two daughters, Laurene and the late Suzanne, who was born in 1966 and passed away in 2022. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Robert Leon Boym and Samuel Launer.
Lenore was married to Maurice N. Leon from 1963 until their divorce in 1978. A lover of culture, she had a particular passion for Spain, having spent time in Madrid during the 1970s, which she considered a second home. Her adventurous spirit and love for the arts were evident in her dedication to her daughters' creative pursuits, often driving them to their ballet and art lessons in New York City.
Throughout her life, Lenore embodied her mother Sallie's wisdom: "Nothing is forever, the good or the bad." Her energetic and sometimes humorous presence brightened the lives of those around her. She was also involved in her community as a volunteer with the American Ballet Theater and the Joffrey Ballet.
Lenore identified as Jewish but was not observant in her later years. Her legacy of love, encouragement, and passion for life will be cherished by her family and friends.
A graveside service for Lenore will be held on Tuesday September 3rd at 11:00 am at Temple Israel Cemetery, 1620 Western Ave. in Guilderland.
