Lenore Velcoff

Lenore Paula Velcoff, 90, died on August 28, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Fannie Fishman and Louis Kugel of Newark, NJ and was the beloved widow of Arthur Velcoff.

Lenore is survived by three sons, Bradley (Marti), Robert (Colleen – div.) and Laurence (Christian). She is also survived by four grandchildren, Zachary (Elena), Lila (Tyler), Georgie and Jared, and two great granddaughters. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Albert (Ethel) and Harold (Blanche), and she maintained close contact with her loving nieces and nephew, Barbara Shrank-Epstein, Phyllis Grossman and Stanley Kugel throughout her life.

Lenore was born in Newark, NJ and graduated from Weequahic High School. She and Arthur spent more than twenty-five years in Albany, NY where they raised their three sons. During their time in Albany, Lenore served as president of three PTAs, attended Temple Israel and was employed as a Conference Coordinator with the New York State Office of Mental Health. The family spent many happy summers at Brighton Beach Baths on the Atlantic Ocean in Brooklyn, NY.

After Lenore and Arthur retired, they moved to Century Village in West Palm Beach, FL where Lenore served as President of the Wellington Federation and president of her condo association for twenty-five years. She also served as Vice President of the Women of Wellington. Lenore and Arthur’s greatest joys were visits from their children and grandchildren. In her spare time Lenore also enjoyed writing restaurant and book reviews for the Century Village newspaper.

A funeral service will take place at Levine Memorial Chapel in Albany, NY on Monday, August 31 at 11:00 AM. Lenore will be interred beside her husband in Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches.
