Leona Ritter Obituary

East Windsor, N.J. – Leona Ritter, 104, passed away peacefully at her residence on August 10, 2023. Born in Troy, she is the daughter of the late Benjamin and Anna (Bernstein) Turk.

Leona was a graduate of Albany High School and worked as a stenographer for the New York State Labs. She enjoyed reading, bowling, playing mahjong and most of all spending time with her family.

Leona was predeceased by her husband, Max Ritter; and her sister, Sylvia (Arthur) Spear.

Leona is survived by her children, Stuart (Susan) Ritter, Jeffrey (Kim) Ritter and Debbie Ritter; her brother, Harold (Sydel) Turk; her grandchildren, Rachel Ritter, Stephanie Ritter, Marci (Tom) Kelly, Justin Ritter and Tracy (Josh) Ottenheimer; and great-grandchildren, Noah, Lyla and Luke Ottenheimer and Chase and Gabrielle Ritter.

Funeral services for Leona will be held graveside at Hebrew Tailors Cemetery, 1626 Western Ave. in Guilderland, on Sunday August 13th at 2:30 pm and will be officiated by Rabbi Michael Gurkov. Shiva will be held at Stuart’s home in New Jersey on Monday.
