Albany – Leslie R. Witonsky, 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 10, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Born in Brooklyn, she is the daughter of the late Max and Ray Brickner. She was the loving and devoted wife of 56 years to her beloved Paul who passed away in November 2023.
Leslie was a graduate of Midwood High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English from Brooklyn College. She would go on to work for more than 20 years as a claims examiner for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Leslie was an avid murder mystery reader, pianist, fabulous cook, loved animals and enjoyed a good game of Scrabble.
Leslie was very proud of her Jewish heritage and took many trips to Israel and was always very involved at whichever Temple she was a member of.
Leslie is survived by her children, Alan (Amy) Witonsky, Mitchell (Roseanne) Witonsky, Beth (Zach) Sherry and Gail (Patrick) Brislin; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Jacob, Abbey, Benjamin, Nathan, Ian and Sarah; and her sister, Thelma (Herbert) Loring.
Those wishing to remember Leslie in a special way can make memorial contributions in her name to, Community Hospice of Albany or The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
Leslie was laid to rest beside her beloved husband Paul in a private ceremony on February 12, 2024.
