Lillian (Weiss) Rappaport

Albany - With great sorrow we note the passing of our beloved mom, grandmother, aunt, and friend Lillian Rappaport on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Born on January 5, 1927, she is the daughter of the late Margaret and Joseph Weiss.

Lillian worked in mental health and volunteered with various organizations including the Red Cross, teaching underprivileged children to swim.

Lillian is survived by her son, Mark (Julie O’Neill) Rappaport; her daughter, Judi (Andrew) Anton; her grandchildren, Leah (Gage) Rych and, Matt (Jess Flynn) Catalfamo, Allison Anton and Michael Anton.

In addition to her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her husband Byron Rappaport; grandson, Adam Rappaport; and brothers, Dr. Emerick Friedman and The Honorable Leonard Weiss.

Graveside services will be held at the Independent Benevolent Cemetery, 260 Fuller Road in Albany on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 1:30 pm. 

Those wishing to remember Lillian in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Rabbinic Services Fund at Congregation Berith Sholom or Camp Braveheart’s.

Shiva will be observed privately.
