Linda Strauss Byer, age 78 of East Greenbush, NY died on Friday evening March 7, 2025 at her residence

Linda was predeceased by her husband, Alan S.  Byer in 2005  whom she married on November 7, 1971, as well as her parents, Louis and Sally Dean Strauss. Linda earned her BA from Russell Sage and a Masters in Library Science from SUNY Albany. She had been employed as a librarian at Russell Sage College RPI and with the East Greenbush School System.  Linda was an avid thimble collector , enjoyed line dancing and crafting.  She was a member of Congregation Ohav Shalom in Albany and served as Secretary for the Rensselaer County Home Bureau. 

Linda will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and deep love for her family.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Lori Lievore, son-in-law John Lievore, grandson Alex Lievore, her son, Phillip Byer, daughter -in-law Amy Byer, granddaughters Hailey and Jocelyn Byer ;as well as many dear friends.

Services at the Ohav Shalom Cemetery , Church Road in Guilderland, NY on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 10:30am. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, Hadassah , or the American Cancer Society
