Marcia L. Spada

Loudonville - Marcia Lee Spada, 79, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2026 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.

Born in Queens, Marcia was the daughter of the late Leonard and Dorothy Darvin. A woman of remarkable intelligence, grace, and compassion, she dedicated her life to education, her family, and the many people whose lives she touched.

Marcia earned her Master’s Degree in Education from SUNY Albany and later received a degree in Real Estate Education from SUNY Empire State University. She was the proud owner and operator of the Albany Center for Real Estate Education for 20 years, where she shared her knowledge, expertise, and passion for education with countless students and professionals.

Those who knew Marcia will remember her as kind, beautiful, loyal, loving, and incredibly brilliant. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with those she loved.

Marcia found great joy in her garden, traveling, painting, theater and music. She enjoyed making memories with her family. She and her family especially treasured their time in The Villages, Florida. The ocean was her happy place—a place where she found peace, beauty, and joy. She was also a philanthropist, with her husband, overseeing The Spada Family Foundation.

Marcia is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Eugene Spada, Esq.; her daughter, Justine L. Spada Esq.; her son, E.R. (Kimberly) Spada II; and her cherished grandchildren, E.R. Spada III and Emily Spada.

Marcia leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, knowledge, and kindness. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, former students, colleagues, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.

Funeral services for Marcia will be held graveside on Friday September 4th at 10:00 am at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Rd. in Colonie.
