Marion Kagan Hoorwitz, 92, of Coconut Creek, Florida, former Capital District resident passed away peacefully on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Coral Springs Broward Health.
Born in Albany, Marion was the daughter of the late Benzion and Masha Fishman Kagan. She had been employed as a speech pathologist at Sunny View Hospital in Schenectady and also worked with her late husband running the former Bernie’s Buster Brown Shoe Store on upper Union Street in Schenectady.
Marion was married to Bernard Hoorwitz until his passing. Survivors include her children, Mark and Robin Hoorwitz, Charles Hoorwitz, Dr. Aaron Hoorwitz and Sharon Hoorwitz, as well as her sister, Becky Wilson of Albany. She was predeceased by brothers, Myer, David, and Joshua (Chickie) Kagan and a sister, Judy Prince. Marion is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services at the Workmen’s Circle Cemetery Schermerhorn Street in Rotterdam, NY on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 10:00am.
