Niskayuna – Martin J. Goodman passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

Born in the Bronx, NY on November 3, 1938, Marty was the son of the late Meyer and Molly Goodman.  He was a graduate of Stuyvesant High School, Randolph Macon College, and Albany Law School.

Marty was in private practice at Goodman Law Offices in Albany, NY for over 30 years. He was licensed to practice law in New York State and was a member of the Albany Bar Association.

Marty enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, skiing, riding motorcycles, sports cars, driving fast, home theater, hiking, camping, tennis, swimming, and working out at the gym. Marty will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, contagious laugh, wonderful sense of humor, jokes, storytelling, clever and comical poetry, witty comebacks, and love of cookies.

Marty was predeceased by his daughter, Kerri (Joel) Saunders, and his sister, Marilyn Goodman.

He is survived by his wife, Tamara; daughters, Hali (Stephen) Holmes and Jodi (Mark Gavin) Goodman;  granddaughters, Lyndsi (Josh) Wickert and Mikaela Holmes; great granddaughter, Emily Wickert; stepson, Brendan Isachsen; cousins Bob (Khwan) Hyden and Steve (Maria) Hyden; and extended family.  He will be greatly missed by his family; friends; and cats Jacob, Eli, and Zeke.

A celebration of Marty’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave. in Albany. Guests may arrive between 9:30-10:30 AM to greet his family prior to the service. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie.
