Obituary

Burke, VA – Michelle F. Ginsberg, 54, died unexpectedly after a brief illness on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Daughter of Harriet and the late Allen Greenberg, Michelle grew up in Latham, New York, graduated from Shaker High School and Bentley College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. While at Bentley, she was an active member of Phi Beta Tau sorority. 

She was married to Jonathan Ginsberg, her devoted soul mate of 26 years. Michelle’s  proudest accomplishment was raising their son, Zachary. Michelle treasured supporting Zach’s accomplishments with his school marching band, and was very proud of his academic achievements. Driving him each summer to camp and then later to college were important, yet bittersweet milestones. Michelle also enjoyed attending shows, dining with friends, and spending time visiting family.

She spent her career working as an accountant for Hilton and other hotels before working in property accounting for several companies in the Northern Virginia area.

Michelle is survived by her husband, Jonathan Ginsberg; son, Zachary Ginsberg of Burke VA ; sister Jill Hildreth (Scott) of Slingerlands; brother Mike Greenberg (Melissa) of Delmar, mother, Harriet Greenberg of Slingerlands NY and was predeceased by her father, Allen K Greenberg.

Michelle’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to family and friends and all of the people who have supported her through her recent medical issues.

Services at Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Road in Albany on Sunday, July 2, at 2:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Rabbi Greg Weitzman. Interment will follow in the Beth Emeth Cemetery in Loudonville.

The period of mourning will be observed at the Greenberg residence, 11 Bittersweet Lane, Slingerlands on Monday, July 3rd commencing at 6:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Michelle in a special way may make a memorial contribution to the Women or Men of Temple Rodef Shalom,  or to URJ Camp Harlam, or to a charity of your choice.
