Albany – Muriel Marin, 93, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Sunday September 25, 2022 at The Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center. Born in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late Marcus and Sophie (Goldstein) Silverman. Muriel was predeceased by her brothers, Bernard and Rabbi Albert Silverman and her sisters, Rose Drucker and Dorothy Metz.

Muriel was the devoted wife of William Marin for 69 years until his passing in 2017. She is survived by her children, Jan Tramontano (Ronald) of Saratoga Springs, Jeffrey Marin (Laura) of Alexandria, Va., and Debbie Lewanda (Joseph) of Slingerlands. Grandmother of Allison D’Antonio (Ryan), Marisa Tramontano (David Horowitz), David Marin (Rachel), Stacey Marin-Goldaris (Robert Goldaris), Daniel Lewanda (Tia Long), Jenna Lewanda, Christine Faga (Angelo) and Brian Tramontano (Amelia). Great-grandmother of Brynn and Bailey Marin,  Hadley Goldaris, Micah Horowitz, Will, Brooke, and Ben D’Antonio, Violet and Weston Tramontano, and Samuel and Matthew Faga.

Muriel was deeply loved by all who knew her. Her bright and ready smile instantly drew people to her. She was a devoted wife, mother, and member of her community. She belonged to many community organizations that supported causes she believed in. After staying at home to raise her children, she joined the workforce and was a valued member of the NYS Public Service Commission’s Office of General Counsel until her retirement. She and her husband, Bill, then enjoyed rich later years traveling and spending time with the family she so loved.

Funeral services for Muriel will be held on Thursday September 29th at 11:30 am at The Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave. Albany.
