Richard H. Cohen

Richard Henry Cohen, 92 of Coburg Village, Rexford, NY passed away on February 19, 2023 at Ellis Hospital. He was born October 19, 1930 to Minnie and Samuel Cohen.  Richard was married to Shirley Cohen for 66 years. He  attended Nott Terrace High School and Hudson Valley Community College.  Richard joined the NY Air National Guard and was employed by them for 30 years as a Master Sergeant.  Richard also owned and operated Cohen's Furniture Store on State St in Schenectady.  He ran the business for 60 years with his wife and sons until retiring to the Pocono Mountains with Shirley.
Richard is survived by his wife of 66 years Shirley, sons Stephen (Kim), Larry, daughter Alisa Sarris, grandchildren Samuel, Matthew, Josh Cohen, Scott (Gianna) Crane, Ashley (Justin) Gordon and great grandchildren Madelyn and Robbie Gordon. He was predeceased by his parents Minnie and Samuel, brothers Jerome and Norman Cohen and his daughter Paula Cohen-Crane.
There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Agudat Achim Cemetery, Schermerhorn St, Rotterdam at 10:00 am.  The family will be sitting shiva on Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm at Coburg Village, 1 Coburg Village Way, Rexford, NY.  They will also be sitting shiva on Thursday evening at 7:00 pm at the residence of Steve and Kim Cohen, 1340 Hillside Ave, Niskayuna, NY.
