Ballston Lake – Bob Richards, 79, passed away on Monday October 6, 2025 at Saratoga Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Cambridge, MA he is the son of the late Robert and Virginia (nee Bagwell) Richards.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Melinda (Ripps) Richards; his daughters, Gretchen Richards (Rob Ferragamo) & Rebecca Richards (Alan Graham); his sister, Kathleen (John) McGreavy; brothers-in-law Richard Ripps (Barbara) & Andrew Ripps (Linda), & 5 nieces & 2 nephews.

Bob owned and operated Pool & Spa Rx for 25 years until his retirement in 2024. He enjoyed being a mentor to his staff and watching them go on to succeed. Teaching CPO classes gave lots of joy. He loved golfing, fishing with his wife and dogs on his boat, exercising in his gym, listening to all genres of music, eating, and spending time with family and friends. Bob was a friend of Bill W for the past 11 years.

Funeral services for Bob will be held on Sunday October 19 at 11:00 am at The Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave. in Albany. Family will receive guests prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Please bring your pictures and stories about Bob.
