Ruth Glickman Grubstein died on August 16, 2022, with her three daughters at her bedside, following a short illness at the age of 95.  Ruth was born in Albany, New York, to Joseph and Dena Finkelstein in 1927.  After graduating from Albany High School, she worked as a secretary, where she the met the love of her life, Al Glickman, and married him in 1947. They welcomed three daughters, Marianne Shore Chiocco (Dennis), Bonnie Glickman (Sam Frank), and Terry Glickman (Kirt Peterson). While raising her girls, she also worked with her parents and husband at the family business, Fink’s Mens Wear, on Central Avenue in Albany.  She and Al were avid bowlers and polka dancers.  They also enjoyed spending time with friends, especially Bob and Dotty Signor.  After many years of running the family business, Ruth and Al retired to West Palm Beach, Florida. Her beloved Al died in 1995, and she stayed in Florida where she married her second husband, Daniel Grubstein, who predeceased her.  She was also predeceased by her two older brothers, Marvin Finkelstein and Bart Fink.  In addition to her daughters and their spouses, she leaves behind her cherished grandchildren—Seth Alpert (Julie), Jeremy Alpert (Katie), Melissa Lurie (Brian), Sean Alpert (Emily), Sarah Salamon (Mathias), Michael Shore (Noelle), Pamela Koch (Eric), Berk Frank, and Macy and Jacqueline Geiger.   She is survived by 14 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews, and their children, as well. 

Graveside services will be held on  Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 2pm, at Hebrew Tailors Cemetery, 1626 Western Avenue, Albany, NY.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Ruth’s name to: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute https://www.dana-farber.org, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital https:..www.stjude.org .
