Sally Kaufman Obituary

Sally Kaufman, passed away on March 22,2022. Age 93, of Colonie New York. Previously of Brooklyn New York. Daughter of the late Tillie and Isaac Seltzer. Very beloved wife of 59 years to the late Isreal “Ike” Kaufman who died in 2009. Loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Sally is survived by son David Kaufman of Brooklyn New York, daughter Laurie Ingersoll (John) of Colonie New York, granddaughter Kayla Liebman (Josh) of Sharon, Massachusetts, grandson Andrew Kaufman (Julie) of Riverdale, New York, and very recently deceased beloved granddaughter Aliza Liebman (Ted Horwitz) of Millis, Massachusetts.  She also leaves behind her most cherished grandchildren Shai, Ollie, Ethan, and Eli.   Growing up in Coney Island Sally loved the beach. She attended Abraham Lincoln high school. She met the love of her life at an early age, while on a tennis court. Throughout their marriage tennis was a passion of theirs. While raising her children, Sally worked outside the home at various places including the Brooklyn Army terminal, and several import/export companies. She had also been employed as and Office Administrator for Grayarc Printing in Brooklyn, NY   Together with Ike she enjoyed spending the winters at their home in Delray Beach Florida, and traveled to many places including Israel, Spain, Greece and Italy. They also enjoyed taking many cruises.    After Ike passed, she moved to the Albany area and made many friends at the Beltrone living Center. She celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends at a wonderful party in her honor at the Barnsider restaurant.  Sally enjoyed cooking, reading, mah-jongg, taking care of her plants, and watching Jeopardy. She amazed us all by mastering Facebook and Google.  Most of all she loved her family and will be greatly missed.

A graveside service and burial will be held at Mount Hebron cemetery in Queens New York. Memorial donations may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany, whose compassionate staff provided loving care during her time of need.
