Niskayuna – Sandra “Sandy” Bell, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday October 7th surrounded by her loving family. Born in Schenectady, she is the daughter of the late Leonard and Marjorie (Cramer) Drooz.
Sandy was a graduate of Linton High School in Schenectady Class of 1964. She would then marry Dr. Sam Bell on May 30, 1970. Sandy ran the office at Sam’s podiatry practice, Podiatry Associates, P.C. until their retirement in 2023.
Sandy enjoyed traveling, especially to her “happy place” Aruba and spending summers on their boat in Lake George. She was a member of Club Pilates and enjoyed playing Mahjong with her friends. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren is what gave her the greatest joy in life.
Those wishing to remember Sandy in a special way can make memorial contributions in her name to The American Cancer Society at Cancer.org as Sandy was a proud breast cancer survivor herself.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Dr. Sam Bell; her sons, Alan (Nicole) Bell and Brian (Melissa) Bell; her daughter-in-law, Cindy Bell; her beloved grandchildren, Abby, Jordan, Madelyn and Brady; her sister-in-law, Marion (Peter) Korn; brother-in-law, Gary Pearson; and nieces, Shari (James) Shapiro and Sheryl (Glen) Waldorf. In addition to her parents, Sandy was predeceased by her sister, Ann Pearson.
Funeral services for Sandy will be held on Thursday October 10th at 10:00 am at The Agudat Achim Cemetery, 100 Mt. Stuart Rd. in Rotterdam.
