Rotterdam - Scott Greer, 71, of Rotterdam, NY, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on December 4, 1954, in Schenectady, NY, Scott was the son of the late Dr. Herbert and Eunice Bronson Greer. He was a graduate of Niskayuna High School, Class of 1973, and spent many years working in the local area before retiring in 2016 to dedicate his time to caring for his mother.
Scott had a passion for collecting and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time with his family. He will be remembered for the moments he shared with those he loved and the lasting memories he created with them.
In addition to his parents, Scott was predeceased by his sister, Sharon Greer, who also passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2020.

He is survived by his sister, Melinda (Michael) Green of Rotterdam, and his brother, Lee Greer of San Diego. He is also survived by his nieces, Leah (Steven) Maynard of Rotterdam and Laurie (Mark) Makara of Fort Plain; his nephews, Jeffrey (Andrea) Green of Schenectady and Christopher Greer of San Diego; as well as one great-niece and four great-nephews.
A private service will be held for family.
