Naples, FL – Scott Howard Ginsburg, 67, passed away at his residence on Wednesday June 14, 2023. Born in Albany he is the son of the late Bernard and Elaine (Gleckman) Ginsburg.
Scott was a long time resident of the Capital Region and a member of Temple Beth Emeth. It was here that he and his ex-wife Patricia raised their daughter Brittney. Scott took pride in watching Brittney grow up and participate in a number of activities; he coached her swim teams, chaperoned school and sporting trips and cheered her on at several running races throughout the years. Scott’s enthusiasm for Brittney’s involvement in sports came as no surprise as he was an avid runner, swimmer and all-around triathlete himself, having raced in several marathons. No surprise that he eventually moved to Naples, Florida to pursue another passion of his with more regularity, golf. It would not be unusual to find Scott on the golf course mid-day in July. In addition to his affinity to sports, Scott was a founding member of JB Scott's nightclub in Albany, promoting charity events, and numerous concerts. He was a staunch follower of the Grateful Dead and found great pleasure in attending many concerts as he could get to.
Scott is survived by his daughter, Dr., Brittney Ginsburg of Jacksonville, FL; his brothers, Dr. Marc (Terry) Ginsburg and Bruce (Carolyn) Ginsburg.
Scott will be laid to rest beside his mother at Independent Benevolent Cemetery in Albany with a private ceremony.
A minyan will be held at the home of Bruce and Carolyn Ginsburg on Monday, June 19th at 7:30pm.
Those wishing to remember Scott in a special way can make memorial contributions in his name to St. Matthew’s House at stmatthewshouse.org
