Goldberg, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of Albany, New York, on Thursday February 20, 2025, at the age of 99. Selma lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of everyone she met. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, she was known for her dynamic personality, generosity, and love for her family, synagogue, and community. Her spirit and strength were evident in all aspects of her life, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Selma was predeceased by her beloved husband, Nathan Goldberg, who she was married to for 78 years; her brother Ronald Weisberg, sister-in law, Harriet Brown, sister Phyllis Weisberg, and son in-law, John McEnery. Selma is survived by her daughter, Janet McEnery; son and daughter-in-law, Michele and Larry Goldberg; four grandchildren, Joshua and Brandon Goldberg, and Patrick and Annie McEnery; and nieces, Ellen Weisberg Joseph and Risa Weisberg Horst.

A Registered Nurse, Selma was educated at the Beth Israel Hospital School of Nursing at Mount Sinai. She worked for many years as a nurse at the medical office of Dr. Benjamen Markowitz. Later, she went on to manage the Law office of Goldberg and Gottheim and the CPA Firm of Goldberg and Vadney in Albany. Selma was a devoted member of the Jewish Community and an active member of Congregation Ohav Shalom and its sisterhood.  She was a passionate member of the Board of the “Daughters of Sarah Jewish Foundation” for many years. As the Foundation’s President, she played a crucial role in creation of the Massry Residence for Assisted Living.

The graveside funeral will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 10:30 am at Ohav Shalom Cemetery on Church Rd. in Guilderland.

Donations may be made to Daughters of Sarah Jewish Foundation or Congregation Ohav Shalom. Selma’s legacy of kindness, love, and devotion will live on through her family and all whose lives she touched.
