Stanley Kaminsky Obituary

Stanley Jay Kaminsky, 69, passed away on November 2 at his Albany home. He was the devoted son of the late Reba and Morris Kaminsky.

Born in Albany, N.Y., he graduated from Albany High School as valedictorian, Union College and the University of Michigan where he received his Doctorate in Philosophy. Stanley enjoyed teaching at Union College and later went on to work in the technology sector at Fleet Bank and other firms as an analyst and programmer.

Stanley was a member of Temple Israel and later a regular and dedicated volunteer at services at the Daughters of Sarah Community, spending afternoons there visiting with residents. Stanley loved science fiction and took pleasure in reading and gardening. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, imagination and generous gift giving nature. Most importantly was Stanley’s interest and compassion for others especially as the caretaker of his parents in their later years.

He is survived by brothers Jeffrey (Carol) of Miami, Ron (Martine) of Kfar Saba, Israel, nieces Laurel, Natalie (Yair) and Aiden and nephews Natan and Benjamin, and many cousins and their children.

Graveside services will be held at the Independent Benevolent Cemetery, 260 Fuller Road in Albany on Monday, Nov. 7th, 2022 at 1 pm.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Daughters of Sarah Community for Seniors, Albany, N.Y.    The period of mourning ( Shiva) will be observed at the residence on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:30 t0 8:30pm
